About NICO'S COCINA
NICO's Cocina was founded in the Spring of 2006. Our restaurant is named after
Joaquin Espinoza’s father, Nicholas. As a little boy, Joaquin remembers spending
most of his time over a hot stove cooking with his father. Nico’s passion for
creating beautiful mouth watering authentic Mexican cuisine inspired Joaquin ’s
interest in opening a restaurant and sharing all those great family recipes.
Just like many Mexican Americans, Joaquin came to America at a very young age to
fulfill the American dream. He has worked in restaurants most of his life. His
experience, wisdom, and nose for the catering and restaurant business brought
him to Carrollton, Texas..
Here they started to talk about food and family. The concept of food, family,
and fun was such a great idea, the two friends decided to start Nico’s Cocina.
Decor plans were made and permits completed. The result is immediately obvious
when you enter the restaurant. Spacious roomy tables with just the right
lighting. The back patio is a favorite and adjacent to a full size playground
area for the kids.
We hope you enjoy every dining experience at Nico's Cocina!
